Maintenance Tip: When to change transmission fluid

If you ask around, you’ll often get different opinions on when to change transmission fluid. Some car manufacturers recommend getting a fluid change every 100,000 or even 150,000 miles, but that is far too long when you think about it. The average driver logs about 12,000 to 15,000 miles per year, so if you were to get a fluid change every 100,000 miles, you’d end up servicing your transmission once every 6.5-8.5 years.
.
That’s why it’s recommended to get a fluid change every 30,000 to 60,000 miles, or once every 2 to 4 years. In Daks Toyota we have a specialized Express Maintenance center for your Toyota, no matter its model or year.

Transmission fluid is an important part of transmission which keeps the transmission safe from overheating. Transmission fluid may become dirty, contaminated and worn out. Transmission will not work correctly and ultimately it will get overheated and breakdown if transmission fluid is not changed timely. Most manufacturers recommend to change the manual transmission fluid between every 30,000-60,000 miles where as service intervals for automatic transmission fluid vary from 30,000 miles to never.
